ahhhhhhh!!!

February 4, 2011 we got together with some of our favorite people (M & K King, M & A Laney, T & J Ryan, J & K Balls, I & A Dahl and the best hosts D & A Riter) for a crazy NEWLYWED game. Aaron and I practiced for weeks asking each other the craziest questions as we were in bed falling asleep. We felt it was our duty to win, being married the longest.
We came in 2nd.
The Balls won, because they knew each other so well it was.... scary....or rigged


We got to watch our favorite baby and I was trying to clean my house, but keep track of him... he LOVED my laundry basket and toothbrush lid! And FYI: this is not my toothbrush lid. You all know me well enough to know I wouldn't even share that with my favorite nephew. Germs are real, guys.

This is my favorite picture. Baby looks like he is kickin back and relaxing on his side. It makes me giggle every time I see it. We took Sammy boy to the temple to lay on the grass and enjoy the sun. I realized I should do that more, with baby or without!

Last, but certainly not least, after months and months (meaning years and years) of prep.... Aaron/we got into U of A Phoenix College of Medicine.

This was totally our #1 choice. We didn't get our hopes up but we wanted it bad! We received acceptances from a few other schools near and far but this was always in the back of our mind.

He recevied an email Friday evening from U of A giving him a link to a video. The video was pretty awesome (It was this huge card being deliverred to everyone in Phoenix i.e. the mayor, dean of U of A and other important people saying congratulations. Then at the end of the 3 minute video the 1st years spelled out congratulations and it was official, they let us know we got in). Our families are just about as excited as we are. (Aaron's mom was SO relieved her future grandbabies would be super close and his dad sent an e-mail out to the whole fam right away giving them the news. My family screamed, jumped up and down and then cried.) Phoenix is where it's at. At least for the next 4 years :)

Way to go Aaron J Dahl MD ----------- here we go------ and I might need entertaining from anyone who is willing to give it to me. I will be single until the year 2015....

CELEBRATE!

First off, it was this handsome boy's birthday on Feb. 1st. 20 years old, I just can't believe it! Even though he is 20 years old he will always be my little baby who plays with legos!

Aaron's birthday was Jan 31. True to form we decided to make a weekend out of it! We started on Friday morning by going to Body Worlds at Arizona Science Center. I knew Aaron would love this! We have wanted to go for forever, but never have!

You can't take any pictures inside, but it was so cool. And Aaron was like a kid in a candy store (in a non Charles Manson, creepy creeperson way).

Saturday was my race (in post above) so we did that Saturday morning and then he took me to my favorite: KONA GRILL. We love it. Then he treated me to an outfit and jewelry at F21, way to bring in your birthday Aboy(??)

Sunday we were lucky enough to have both of our families together to celebrate Dahl's birthday. We had awesome carne asada tacos and BYU mint browies! Aaron was spoiled rotten because both families love him to pieces.

Honestly, who couldn't?

Wade, Heather and Z came over to celebrate the big 25....

And of course, our FAVORITE baby was there hogging all of our attention. WE LOVE BABY SAM!!!

Monday, which was his actual real birthday, I was lucky enough to have off, so we met the Dahl gang at Sauce for lunch and light shopping. Later that night we had some of our friends over(which I managed to not get ANY pictures of...) for Smore's and cake. It was perfect spending the whole weekend with everyone we love!

Love you Dahl, and I'm super happy that you are 25 and finally caught up to me! I ain't no cougar any more!

On January 16, 2011, Katie ran the P.F. Changs half marathon for her second go-round at it. It was so fun to watch her. Although, Aud and I thought it was such an amateur race since we have been to the NY marathon. But needless to say, we saw her right at mile 13 (as in SHE yelled at US to get our attention... I don't know what it is about the P.F. Changs race that allows us NEVER to find her...).

P.F. Changs marketing must have been awesome cuz right after the race we went to Changs to eat lunch! FUN DAY!

On January 29, 2011 I ran MY FIRST half marathon. It was London's run (which I doubt I'll do again, not a fan of running on dirt...) and it was SUCH a blast. Even though I had NO music, (I had done something funky to my shuffle the night before and it totally went out a 1/4 of a mile INTO the race) dirt got into my shoes creating blisters, and tractors were still plowing the fields during the run, I LOVED IT.

My mom and Aud came out to cheer me on. Katie would have come, I know, but she had a work thing.

My trainer Stefanie ran it too with her sisters. I saw them along the way and of course she was cheering me on because she ALWAYS cheers me on and I love her so much!

This is how my sister and my mom run their half marathon.

One supportive husband. Seriously he always let me do my runs even though he wanted us to go out and do something. He even ran a couple runs with me!

Oh yeah--- my goal to finish was 2:07.

I got 2:04:11.

With these short little legs and my first run, that's quite an accomplishment, Bainy!
