Costa Rica!!!

In the history of this blog this is the LONGEST post. So I'm warning you even before you start.

This is the view right outside our hotel door. We loved it here! It was humid, but I'd take it again, any day!
We got there Sunday around 1 and had to hang out in the hotel until 3 when our room was ready. So we got food and walked around soaking it all in! Our resort was very secluded and surrounded boy the rain forest!

We should have stood next to this, but this is a giant chess set around the pool. It was so cute, people would play this and there was a ping pong table right next to it.

Aaron relaxing in a leather chair that was for sale for too much money..
Weirdest creatures were around... I get this is just a frog, but there were crabs and monkeys and weird stuff!

We went to bed that night and that morning we wanted to soak in as much sun as we possibly could (we heard we went during rainy season... awesome...)
It was so humid our lens kept fogging up!

We headed down to the beach and pool every day. And loved that life.

The pool. View? amazing.

Laying out. I was totally into a good book ---

So was Aaron. We both couldn't stop reading. It was just what we needed!

Us heading in. It would rain every day about 3 so we would lay out then go take a much needed nap. Poor us....

Love birds

I have a lot of pictures of the view.... so get ready!

So, let me explain.... at the resort it was all buffet except for some of the restaurants for dinner. The food at the buffets were.... interesting. So, needless to say, this is what I ate every day for lunch.
Don't worry, I'm still trying to lose the 6 pounds I gained.....

Us heading to dinner

After dinner each night we would hang out in the lobby and play skip bo, cuz skip bo is THE BEST.

Dinner..... I took pictures of everything I guess!

We then realized it was an open bar. We had like maybe 8 virgin drinks a day!!!!

The next day:
See first thing in the morning---drinks!

While it was raining we went to our room and played more skip bo! Aaron has gotten sooooo good! I'm so proud of him!

That night we went to dinner at one of the restaurants inside the hotel. It was better than the buffet!

We skyped with my family it was awesome. We never could get a hold of Aaron's family though

Drinks again. How do I not have a mouth full of cavities!?!?

The next morning on Wednesday we headed off for our tour.
On the way we saw monkeys in trees! Aaron mastered the call to the monkeys and the male would shout back!

Green green green!

Us on the bus heading to..... I don't know the name, but I know it is up a bunch of mountains and we were getting ready to zip line, horseback ride, water slide and see the hot springs

Us getting ready to zip line. It was gorgeous!!

We had our gear on to zip line and we had to hike up the mountain, on the way we saw the pool our water slide would take us to!

Us hiking through the rain forest!

This is the start of the water slide we would do after zip lining. It's like a dam, you get to say how fast you go and then they release the water and down you go! I swear it would illegal in the U.S. I almost fell out like 4 times!

Crazy hairy caterpillars that were EVERYWHERE. The trees were black because of the caterpillars

It was so fun and we were so high and could see everything!

Awe. We saw the biggest Iguana. Seriously, it was THIS big (my arms are spread out huge).

So this is kind of out of order, after zip lining then we went down the water slide, then we went horse back riding to get to the hot springs where we had a mud bath.....

So we started the horseback riding adventure. And how awesome is this, I got the SMALLEST horse! Seriously I felt like I was riding a donkey! My mom laughs every time I tell her about it. My horse was REALLY obedient and had to be the first one in the line. It was great.

Aaron on his normal horse.

There were such fun people on their tour and it was so cute they were all on their honeymoon!

All the horses gathered together while we went to the hot springs.
And we drove a tractor back

We kept taking pictures of the scenery cuz it was b-e-a-utiful!

Our resort at night

That night we went to the Asian restaurant for dinner.

And of course hung out in the lobby at night!

Thursday we laid out on the beach because it looked like this:

Aaron doing his thing while I finished my book!

Us eating at the steak house. Aaron ordered TWO plates and finished my food, I guess that means it was delish!

Outside our room there was construction. It wasn't a problem the first couple nights, then, they started in the morning at 6 and would work until midnight! So, we asked if we could switch to the other side of the hotel and they let us, taking our luggage to a fresh, clean and QUIET room.

Friday:
Went to the hot tub at the spa where Aaron found his favorite herbal tea they had on thier mission and he has not found since! And it was very yummy!

Every night the hotel had shows with performers and dancers. Friday was the best. It was a Michael Jackson impersonator and it was soooo good! We loved it! It was very good entertainment that evening!

Us enjoying a little MJ

Saturday we went to the cutest town called: Tamarindo. If I go back to Costa Rica, this is where I'm staying. It reminded me of my favorite city in Greece, Tolon. Tamarindo is the cutest beach city.
We went surfing. Aaron did AWESOME at surfing! I got up 4 times and then called it good cuz that is a MAJOR workout!

Tamarindo and it has THE cutest shops with the CUTEST stuff!

We were wishing a P.F. Changs was near by....

So we got offered illegal drugs 3 times while we were there from different people.... No worries, even though we were on vacay we said no, of course!

See cutest shops with things like Notting Hill purses? Weird.

When we got back from surfing we decided to go on a walk by the beach. We had to hurry cuz the rain was coming in!

Cute little boat all stranded! This beach reminded me of LOST and we love that show!

Not sure if they meant a ton of monkeys were over there, or a monkey bar with beer .... Aaron was wondering if they meant a playground...

All of these things were all over our wall in the nook of our hotel door! It kinda grossed me out!

Getting ready for a Saturday night out!
He could not figure out how to put the ironing board back... I told him...
"Well, I'll let you figure that out, you're gonna be a Dr and all...."

Sunday:
The view from our second room

Geico lizard? We were not sure.

We went paddle boating! We were bummed we didn't bring our fishing poles! It's ok cuz this whole ride Aaron was telling me the REAL story of Les Mis. I was very entertained!

Grabbed some coconut drink!

And laid under a tree, I don't know how but I got fried!!!! And it looked ridiculous!

That evening since it was our last night we decided to go to the spa where Aaron got a "man facial" and I got:
A chocolate body wrap!!! It was awesome and smelled delicious! I'd do it again!

Monday it was our last day and we felt like this:
We were so sad to leave! But we will go back!

So we had a lay over in Atlanta and from Atlanta to Phoenix GUESS who was on our plane.....
This guy! The ta-da-da-da guy!!! He was on the first seat and Aaron grabbed a glimpse of him and told me and... if you know me and how I get around move stars... lets just say I didn't say anything to him and it was probably a good thing. But in AZ he got his own luggage and got into a nice little Taurus and I'm a fan. He is so big.
Us and our star struck face!
Loved Costa Rica and so glad to go there with Dahl boy! Can't wait for our next adventure!

And, Aaron has started school and we have met so many people and he studies all the time!!!!!
