Just Because

Aaron is sleeping and I'm bored. We're SUPPOSED TO go to gecko grill. So I will update you with our OH SO EXCITING lives.....
So picture above.
it's true. I'm a BELIEBER now. We went and saw NEVER SAY NEVER the Justin Bieber movie. Sadly enough this was ALL of our FIRST 3D movie.
But, the movie was so good I'd see it again for the 2nd time if you want me to join. That kid is so cute and the little girls cry over him so adorably.
Much like we did for New Kids on the Block....

SOOOOOO as awesome as we are... that next Tuesday/Wednesday it was the BIEBS, John Bon Jovi and Dr. Seuss birthday so, we decided, naturally, we need to celebrate. We listened to Justin on the way and Bon Jovi on the way home while Aud was sporting her Seuss shirt!
And where are we you may ask?
CAKES BY APRIL ACROSS FROM SAN TAN MALL. Go there or be a loser.
Askins girls goal: to have the front worker boy NOT know our name cuz we need to stop going there.

On to a totally different note:
I'm training. Because I'm running the full marathon in San Diego. I have been running hills.

These buns better be made of steel when I'm done.

We have been eating a lot of soup. My poor husband, because, let's be honest, who eats soup and gets super full? And who eats soup and doesn't feel poor?

This is totally on my TV right now and I love this movie.

One Monday morning I didn't have to work so we decided to hike Camelback! We hiked it really fast, I was super impressed. The weather?
PERFECT.
Summer, please come and be nice to us....

After our hiking extravaganza. Wanna know the best part, it has to do with food, naturally. On our way there we realized we didn't have any water and for some reason only place we could find near by was a Paradise Bakery. SO, 3 water bottles later we hiked and at the top we ate our 4 cookies. FATTYS!!!!!!

For those of you who have never hiked Camelback, the houses are SUPER nice. Much like where Aaron and I live right now (wink, wink). So here is a patio and Aaron is convinced these people are getting rid of this couch.
reasons why I know this is not so
1-we're not in a ghetto community where you put your old belongings on the side of the road
2- the couch is much, much, much nicer than ours-who would give it away
3- maybe they have a huge patio and want a super nice couch?

Kelly was in town for a bachelorette party. We met up. Time had not passed cuz she is Kelly.
MOVE BACK! Tell Zack who needs a job anyway!

One Saturday we headed down to the Ranch area and went shooting with the family.
I guess I haven't been in that area in forever because I didn't even know this little rock slab existed.
I miss my Papa. Both of them. And my Nana. I think about them everyday. A lot, to where I wonder if it's normal.

Putting the sentimental crap aside, I suck at shooting. I do not have very good aim. Once upon a time when I had big worries it was my New Year's resolution. Never succeeded.

The gang. So good to see family. Wish more came, let's get together SOON family!

Speaking of Justin Bieber, I have a cousin that LOOKS identical to him. (a little cuter though) WILL PALMER. And the Askins girls (and now Aaron) just love him.

Sissys forever.
Aud was at a birthday party that was a dance class.
We missed her, but she had her priorities in place.
Because my mom's cousin tony is my favorite i took this picture.

So this is Sara. She is not my cousin. She is in Eric's band. She is wearing a skirt.
And she was the best shooter there.
Look at the BAD A gun she is holding.

Linda and Gerald

The girls with Tony and Will.
Side note: Tony's bandanna is totally a fake. Real bandanna, fake hair.
Side note again: Aaron did come, but he got stuck taking all of the pictures. And, of course he was an awesome shooter.
What is he NOT awesome at?

Let's be honest again, I am so excited for mountain man to be over this next weekend so Aaron can finally shave his beard.
I love stubble. Beard? not a fan.

Welp, that's it folks. Here I am bakin' in my humongous kitchen that I have so much room in that I actually have TOO MUCH room.
i lie.
Aaron's awake! Time for geck grill! Yee-haw!

Just because I'm bored and Aaron is taking a nap. I want him to wake up so we can go to GECKO GRILL. ASAP.

Travelin'

Aaron's grandpa Dahl passed away in early February. There was a funeral in San Diego and then one in Utah. Popular guy! We were lucky enough to go to both and make a road trip out of it. It was nice spending time together and seeing family!

Just like any grandparents house there are many things to play with. Leave it to Aaron to find a sword.

Matt got a little exercise in after the luncheon of the funeral...
The service was nice all 5 children spoke and true to Dahl form, there were many laughs.
And we were all mesmerized at the luncheon. It was at a gorgeous house with fancy food. and the best dessert I have had..... in a REALLY long time.
I totally went back 3 times. (oinker...)
We decided to leave after the luncheon and drive to Vegas and spend the night and then drive the rest of the way to Utah that next day (Saturday)

Look what we found heading out of San Diego. I'm taking Nay here when he comes home. Fo Sho.

Since Aaron and I live in the DARK AGES, we do not own a GPS, so Aaron's dad let us borrow his. It made the trip SO much easier. With minimal fighting too!

There is totally a chocolate by the bald man restaraunt in Vegas! And, even though it was midnight, and I was stuffed, we made a trip there. Luckily Aaron didn't eat any lighter fluid this time. Although that made a very memorable trip!

So, this chunk of chocolate that i'm holding costs 400.00 smack-a-roo's. REALLY??? Plus think of all the crowns you will need after biting into this and breaking teeth.
it MIGHT be worth it.

On our way out of Vegas we stopped by the outlets, naturally. Which was a success, naturally.

We stopped by the motor speedway cuz weeks before Brad the Bachelor took his mistresses here. And sadly enough, I'm addicted to that show.

Who knew there was a brick oven in St. George?????? Not us! (Basically this roadtrip was all about food...)

We stopped by Aim and Corbs to see new baby Asher. Starbursts were included at this visit.

Ohhh he is so cute! And, I'm so excited to announce Aim and Corb are coming here for dental school! We'll be together once again!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sunday morning (Feb 13) we headed up to Logan to see Aaron's best friend Curtis and Jessie. It was a perfect day in Logan. Not too cold which I was SO excited about. I HATE COLD!

I guess I don't get out much and I had never seen the Logan temple. We walked by the temple and it is so gorgeous!

The Fletchers and the Dahls. We are excited to have them move back in September. We love having friends!

This is Heather. And she loves Sam. lets face it: who doesn't?!?!?!?!??!!!
The night before the funeral we had a get together at Greg and Lorraine's. We had a great dinner and spent time together.

So Aaron's aunt Paula got onsies for the babies. To decide who got the set of onsies we put them in the middle of the room and the babies had a race and whoever touched them first won!
Sammy boy did it! (I think baby Logan was scared at all the noise and caused performance anxiety....)

Monday February 14 there was the funeral in Sandy. After the service we had the memorial. Here are all the pallbarers (sp?). Have I mentioned Aaron's family are the tallest humans around??

These were my favorite flowers. They were like fire orange-red. I loved them!

We love grandpa Dahl and will miss him very much!!!!

Family picture when it was freaking freezing and the wind was blowing my dress up. Recipe for disaster!
After the memorial we headed back to the church where we had 14 different versions of funeral potatoes and some awesome brownies.

Kids love Aaron. Which is pretty dang cute.

Us with Phyllis. We love her and she took great care of grandpa Dahl
After the luncheon (and it was also Valentines day) we decided to hang out on our own. Aaron was kind enough to take me to Tai Pan and shop around. We headed to Oquirrh Mountain temple cuz Aaron had ever been!

We decided to go to Draper temple too! I love this temple!

But I do not love the freezing-ness and the super windy wind that night.

After, Aaron took me to my favorite restaraunt in all of Utah. ZUPAS! That's what I'm talkin about!

Me with my soup and salad that I look way too excited about....

Aaron loving his first Zupas experience. He did quite well in his first visit.

Even though we were at a funeral all day, it was freezing and it was Valentine's day, we still had a blast being together and spending time with AWESOME family!
