Above: Saturday we went to the expo to get my number and fun stuff. It was a blast and Aaron put his name in every drawing there. I love this, they had a countdown until the race began.
Did this make me SICK. yes. very much so.
They had so many fun things at the expo. Fun things other than samples of tomato juice, protein bars and energy drinks---- like people painting your nails! Why not.
I thought this sign was so cute!I love how Aaron looks so tired in this picture, I think he was.
The morning came and Aaron was so kind to drive Kate and I downtown to the starting line where I waited in the car and Aaron had to literally push me out of the car.....
Don't worry, it didn't work cuz I never fell asleep that night. ever.
I thought to myself, I wasn't even this scared when I took my anesthesia boards.....
THEN:
THEN:
NOTE: my bib says RUNNING 4 NAY
cute huh.
Because peace signs are cool????
We were cold, why not gargabe bags!
So the race started and GUESS WHO WAS AT HE STARTING line cheering people on?
My cute husband stewed all night to figure out where to wait for Kate and I. Him and Kristie figured out how to find us at mile 15 and look, I was so excited to finally see people I know!
Here is Kate at mile 15. We didn't run together but aren't her socks just the best!
Well, we both did it! I did pretty well up until mile 21. I don't think my legs were trained well enough for the hills of San Diego and they started spazzzzzzzzzzzing like crazy. Like I almost fell so many times! So, I had to stop and walk for like 30 seconds at a time to help my legs. My goal was 4:30 and I did it in 4:36. So, after all that walking, I'm still totally pleased with my time for my first marathon ever!
The girls after
Kel came down to see me, it meant so much! I love her very much and she is still a HOOT if you were wondering.
My biggest fan and he took such good care of me this whole trip! I'm lucky and my sisters are lucky to have him too! He took care of us all! (well, me and kate)
After showering and talking for hours. Notice Kelly got a little burnt... she fell asleep at the beach waiting to hear from Aaron.
Kate and I snuggled in bed while waiting for our appetites to kick in!
My medal. And I wore it all night. I was proud!
Priscilla, Kate, Kristie, Aaron and I. Dinner at C Level. Delicious chicken sandwhich and a nice green salad. YUMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!
You can't really see but the view was so pretty! Downtown San Diego! And the weather was perfect!
That next day we headed home. I wanted Aaron to drive to Fiesta Island where all the hell was. This was where mile 22 was and do you see the fork in the road, well, runnng to it you saw other runners running around the island. So you realized you had to run around that stinking island. I cried. I did. Embarrassing but I did. I was done.

But we all did it and I'm super proud of Kate and I and the other runners. It was horrible during and recovering, but I'd do it again. I AM gonna do it again!
Because this is my blog I can post whatever cheesy stuff I want, as I was running I thought of this quote, it is my FAVORITE:
cute huh.

ALI and ROBERTO!!!!!!!!!!!!!
and I didn't get to see them because I thought my Ipod was dying....
It didn't die and I had AWESOME tunes the whole way. But I'm super bummed about Ali and Roberto.
